21 Weeks...he's the size of a Banana!

Well another week has passed by and I'm starting to feel the flutters a little more often. My sciatic pain has gone away (yay!) but I'm still having the usual low back pain, but it's nothing I can't stand or handle. This weekend has been fun...Jeff, my Mother-in-Law and I started painting the nursery this weekend and I love the color I chose. It's a light lime/apple green but I'm adding more to it. Hopefully the finished product looks as I have planned in my head. I've also shopped quite a bit and the pictures to the side is just some of the damage I did today. Baby Gap has some adorable boy clothes so I'm excited about that! Also my Mother-in-Law brought over this little swing set that I know he will just love playing on.

Let the SHOPPING begin!!!

In case you didn't know I have an absolute love for shopping. It's one of my favorite things to do! So it works out perfectly to have someone 'new' to shop for (Mommy is secretly crossing her fingers that he looks just like my handsome husband!). So of course I went shopping that very same evening. My mother-in-law took me to a few stores to buy me some outfits and a blue/brown polka dot blanket that I love. Of course I ran to a few more places tonight...I just can't help myself! Although I have to say I'm highly disappointed at the boy section in all these stores and have had some frustrating fits over it. But oh well, regardless, he'll be my cute little prepped out boy!!

Gender Sono Appt...It's a BOY!!!

We've been waiting for this day for 20 weeks with lots of excitement and anticipation. As most of you already know.....Jeff and I are having a BOY!!!!!!! We are very excited and Jeff is already thinking of all the fun things he wants to do with him and buy him, etc. It is so cute to see Jeff sooo excited! It was alot of fun to call all of our family after the appt. as everyone was anxiously waiting for their phone to ring (especially our Mom's!). Everyone is thrilled that we're having a boy, as Jeff and I have a total of 5 nieces, I have 2 sister's and Jeff has 2 sister's. Needless to say both sides are in desperate need of a boy, and I just knew we'd be the ones to break the chain. My entire pregnancy I knew I was having a boy...I always had a strong sense of feeling about that. I guess Mommy just knows! :) Literally as soon as the sono tech put the unit on my belly she said "It's a Boy!" There was absolutely no denying that as the shots were loud and clear! Jeff and I were cracking up at how obvious it was. She was also able to check baby's spine and parts of the brain and said everything looks great. He now weighs 14oz. He was an active little squirt...the entire time he was moving around and kicking his legs, and we even got to see him drinking fluid...his little mouth kept moving up and down, it was really neat to see. And to let you all know, I forgot the flashlight at home but did drink a half a can of caffeine right before the appt. Maybe that's why he was so actively moving around?!
P.S. - Let me tell you how nice it is to not call him an "it" anymore! :)

I'm halfway there!!!

Yay, it's great to be at the halfway point! I have to say I'm starting to feel it too...it's been a rough week...I already can't sleep very well and I'm completely in pain and uncomfortable while I'm laying down. My hips, lower back and sciatic has been killing me this past week, so needless to say I'm ready for my hour massage tomorrow night! Hopefully she can work out my sciatic pain, otherwise I'll have to get a few adjustments to see if that will help. Also it's been a crazy busy week with work and I've had to stand more than usual, so I know that didn't help my pain either. Yesterday morning I was extremely nauseas and was sick pretty much all morning and part of the afternoon, so I laid on the couch alot. It's weird how some mornings it hits ya and other times you're fine. I'm wondering if my sciatic pain is what made me sick, as it hurts so bad at times that it's almost unbearable. Unfortunately I'm only halfway there and I know the pain and discomforts are only going to increase and get stronger. (so my sister also tells me!) But I know it's all part of it and I feel that I have been pretty fortunate so far.
This past week has also been an exciting week cause I have felt baby 'flutter' a few times, two different nights. At first you're not sure that's what it is but I'm 99% sure it was, especially the second time when I felt it laying down in bed...it was pretty clear that it was baby moving around. Very surreal and I can't wait till I can feel it on a consistent basis and when Jeff can start feeling it on the outside.
Well, this Thursday the 23rd is our BIG sono and we can hardly wait! I'm thinking of taking a flashlight with me and maybe a Mt. Dew too!....Jeff read in his book that baby can see and respond to light from a flashlight, so I'm thinking if the baby isn't cooperating or laying the right way then I can shine the light on my stomach and see if s(he) moves....what do you think, is it worth a try or do you think the sono tech will look at me funny?!? :) Also, Jeff has been kidding me lately that I need to drink a Mt. Dew before my sono so the caffeine will hopefully make the little one move around. But then I'm thinking it 'could' do the reverse and move 'too much'. I don't know, maybe I'm thinking about it too much....well duh, that's ALL I can think about!!! I'm ready to know if we'll have a little boy or a little girl, and I'm also ready to shop and decorate the nursery!
**Make sure to get your vote in BEFORE Thursday morning, as I'm curious what each of you think I'm having!** My vote is a "Boy"....I have thought that all along.

Watching our nieces!

Here are a few pictures we took last night.
Jeff and I got to babysit my 2 nieces (Rylie - 17 mos. & Reagan - 1.5 mos.) last night and had a great time! It was some good practice for us! Rylie was so much fun and we watched about 2.5 hours of 'Mickey Mouse Playhouse'....between that and playing with my dogs, she was entertained all night! I watched them at our house from 5:30 - 10:00pm and then took them to my parents so they could stay the night out there. My parents didn't get home till 11:15pm so I put Rye down for bed and then Reagan fell asleep on me for the last hour....that was the icing of the night...the best feeling in the world, and I can't wait to experience that with my own little one very soon! I LOVE my nieces!!!

Belly pics and update!

Well I'm almost halfway there and I've been feeling pretty good! Don't have much to complain about, other than a few tummy pains (most likely caused by all the stretching), the constant trips to the bathroom (even when you don't drink anything), and my hips are killing me when I sleep on my side at night. I have been advised to buy a special pillow to put in between my legs, so I plan on purchasing one very soon!
This past week we got our carpet installed in the baby's room and we love it! Now we're just waiting to find out the baby's sex so we can get started on the painting and getting it all decorated and feeling like a nursery. The room is currently empty (well we moved a few pieces of furniture in) but I find myself going in there alot, as I already love that room...it instantly feels cozy and I can tell it's soon going to be my favorite room in the house!
Also, the past 2 weeks I have enjoyed going to a prenatal yoga class with some of my girlfriends at 'Namaste' in Junction City. I really enjoy it and plan on buying a package so I can go every week. It challenges me to stretch in places I didn't know exist and I know those stretches will help with making me stronger for my delivery. Also the relaxation is priceless...especially at the end when you get to lay down for about 10 minutes to rest your body, spend time in prayer and think about you and your baby. I really love that time and feel that it's much needed.
Other than that I have been keeping myself busy and time seems to be flying by! In 9 days we will hopefully find out the sex of our little one, as our next appt/sono is scheduled for next Thursday the 23rd. We are so anxious and excited!!

Another week...a bigger belly!

I'm back for my "Sunday Seven!"

7 things that’s been going on with me lately…..

1. Last week I went to a pre-natal yoga class with some other preggo girls, and I really enjoyed it so I’m going again this week!
2. Jeff and I went to the Junior League GALA last weekend and had a great time! It was nice to hang out with some of our good friends but it was a bummer that I couldn’t have a cocktail! :-)
3. We picked out the carpet for the nursery and it’s getting installed on Friday! So we've been taking stuff out of the spare room and off the walls, and tearing out all the quarter round.
4. One of my good (old High School) friends came into town from Ohio so it was great to visit with her (and her kiddos) for a few hours.
5. I was able to get a free sono last week but unfortunately they couldn’t tell the sex of the Baby. 3 more weeks to go before we can hopefully find out (if the little one cooperates)!
6. I’ve been reading “Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child”….hopefully the techniques will help me when the baby actually comes!
7. I’m back on a normal schedule with going to the gym. Trying to get in there as much as I can!
