Dr's Appt. - 17 Weeks/1 Day....

We had a great appt. today! Baby's heartbeat was 165 (higher than last appt.), and measuring 17 weeks/4 days. I wasn't scheduled for a sono today but Dr. Bochantin is so sweet and asked me if I wanted one, as she thought we could probably get an accurate gender reading. Of course I became SO anxious and excited when she asked me that, so we got a sono, but unfortunately Baby was laying in the wrong position and the umbilical cord was in the way....so bummed! But that's okay cause at least we were able to get a free sono and see our little bundle of joy! The sono tech did think it was one sex and that's what we were set on (we're not going to tell anyone) for a few minutes until she looked again and then wasn't so sure. So we're not going to think about it and hopefully (fingers crossed!) find out at our next sono, scheduled on Thursday, April 23rd. I can hardly wait for that appt. but at least it's only 24 days away!!
We got alot of good sono pics today (including a few 3D ones) so I will post those after we get them scanned in...so stay tuned!

Baby Grant,
Mommy and Daddy loves you and we pray everyday that you're good and healthy!!!!! We can't wait to meet you!!

17 Weeks - 4 Months

Well my belly hasn't grown much in 1 week but maybe a tiny bit. Of course everyday I feel a little bigger and my pants get a little tighter. I have a feeling that I'll really pop out in the next few weeks! I've heard that 20 weeks is generally around the time that happens with your first (although everyone is different). I am still feeling good except I've had ALOT of stomach pains lately that are SO SO painful. I've also had alot of crazy dreams (I read this is normal during 2nd & 3rd trimesters of pregnancy) and I'm still getting up to go to the bathroom 3 to 4 times a night. Last night Jeff unwrapped all of our baby furniture so we could make sure nothing was dinged up and it was in good condition. Sitting there looking at it made it feel more real, as I was visually picturing our little Baby girl/boy laying in the crib. We also went carpet shopping yesterday and found just what we wanted for the nursery, so hopefully we'll get it installed in the next 2-3 weeks, and then we can get the walls painted (well that will be Jeff and my Mother-in-law's big job...aren't they great?!) and then start moving furniture in and gradually getting the nursery put together. I have my next Dr's appt. tomorrow at 3:45pm, so I'll blog more tomorrow night. Fingers crossed that everything is still going good!

16 weeks!

Another week has passed and I can't beleive this is the last week before I hit my 4 month mark. Time really is passing quickly and we'll have a new addition before you know it! I think about this every Saturday & Sunday morning...I'm trying to enjoy 'sleeping in' since that won't be happening much longer. So, I've still been feeling good but the fatigue and tiredness is not going away. My friends tell me it usually goes away around week 16 so I'm hoping that's the case for me too! I'm ready to get my normal energetic self back. My belly bump is slowly and gradually getting bigger (at least I can tell, especially when I look down!) and I already hate wearing jeans. I'm always dying to get home so I can put on my 'comfy' pants...I'd wear them all the time if I was able to.
My sister (Lyndsay) and I went to a Mom's group sale yesterday and I was able to find a few baby things. I got a little play table for $7 (normally $40) and found a few cute outfits that I couldn't pass up...they are all girl clothes, so hopefully I have a girl at some point. I also found a cute maternity top. We left for the sale at 8am and I didn't get up in enough time to eat something, so with all the standing and it being hot in the gym, I had a spell and almost passed out. I was drenched with sweat and blacked out, only seeing stars. Thank goodness my Sis was with me to help me out. One of the workers grabbed me a chair and I sat down for awhile until I got feeling better. You'd think I'd learn by now that I need to eat something or this is what happens!
Friday night Jeff and I babysat our 2 nieces, Rylie & Reagan. Reagan is only 2 weeks old and Rylie is 16 months, so we were able to get some practice in! :)
Well 1 more week till our next Dr's appt. As always I'm anxious to hear Baby Grant's heartbeat and then schedule our next sono to find out baby's sex!!!! I have been patiently and anxiously waiting for that appt., so I'm glad to know it's just right around the corner (hopefully in 4-5 weeks we'll find out!).

"Sunday Seven"

First of all, I promise I will do more belly pics at week 16 (next Sunday)...honestly my belly hasn't grown since week 13 so that's why I haven't taken anymore.

Now for my "Sunday Seven": 7 things you may or may not know about me....
1. I dated my husband for less than a year before we got engaged, and then we were married 6 months later! Needless to say, when you find the one you just know!
2. I started running last summer and ran 3 races last year. My goal was to run a half marathon this summer but that goal will have to wait since I’m currently pregnant.
3. I have always been a “sports” girl. I played softball and basketball in Junior High and High School, and still love to play!
4. I’m a proud Christian.
5. Mexican is my favorite food. I think I could eat it almost everyday!
6. I write in calligraphy and have done a few weddings (invitations).
7. I’m obsessive about having a clean/straightened house. I used to drive my husband crazy but I think he’s used to it now! And if you’re reading this Mom, I know I wasn’t like this when I lived at home and I’m sure you wished I would have been (lol!). I have gotten a ‘little’ better and need to continue to work on my obsessiveness, as I won’t have time to worry about a ‘neat’ house once Baby Grant arrives! :)

"Sunday Seven"

7 fun things going on right now....

1. We just got a new niece, Reagan Elliott Venturi!!
2. We're going to buy 1 or 2 pieces of Baby Grant's furniture today!
3. I've been searching online (constantly) for diaper bags, nursery decor ideas, baby bedding, and more....it's so fun but very overwhelming too!
4. As a new member of the Junior League of Peoria, I've been helping with the upcoming GALA (at the end of this month) and look forward to going with a group of friends and having a great time!
5. Getting back into the gym! I LOVE working out (cardio mostly) and have been way too tired during my first trimester to go...so this past week I have gotten a 'little' more energy and I'm starting to get back into a routine.
6. I ordered a Prenatal Yoga video, so I look forward to doing that. I haven't received it yet but hopefully I'll get it soon!
7. Last week I got the chance to read to the kindergarten class at Garfield School, as this is one of our Junior League projects. It was such an amazing experience and I felt so good when I left. Although the kids were not letting me go very easily...they all wanted to hold my hand and wanted to show me everything in their classroom. It was definitely an experience I'll never forget and I hope I get the chance to do it again.

Another addition to the "Davidson" family!

I wanted to dedicate this post to my new beautiful niece, Reagan Elliott Venturi. She was born yesterday, March 7th at 3:07pm. She is SO tiny, weighing 5lbs. 12oz. and is 18 inches long. I don't think it had sunk in that my sister was having a baby until I got a text from my mom saying "Come NOW!"....at that point I jumped in my car, shaking and holding back the tears...I was so excited!! I got to the hospital about 30 minutes before she had the baby, so just in time. Thankfully everything went smooth and Lyn did great. Since they waited to find out the sex, the anticipation was high for all of us as we were anxiously waiting to know if it was a boy or girl. Soon after, Nick came walking down the hall with his hands in the air saying "It's a GIRL!" We were all so excited! After about 10 minutes we ALL (there were about 12 of us) got to go in the room to see Lyn and baby Reagan. She is a precious little girl...a wonderful gift from God. We're so happy for you Lyndsay & Nick and we wish you all the best. Rylie is going to be a great big sister!

*In case you guys weren't aware, Lyn & Nick live just 2 houses down from us so hopefully I'll get to see lots of little Reagan (& Rylie too!).

13 week check-up

Another month is gone and another Dr's appt has passed. Jeff went with me again, as he doesn't like to miss these plus he loves hearing our Baby's heartbeat...he says "it makes it seem so real!" The heartbeat was 158 today so it's starting to slow down a little bit (which is normal the further along you are). Good news is that I get to stop taking my progesterone meds! Because of my very low blood sugar, they tell me I need to start eating 5-6 small meals a day...I'm not a big snacker so this is kind of a challenge for me, but I know I 'need' to do it. It will help to keep me from feeling faint and passing out. So far this week I haven't had any morning sickness so that's good. But I am still very tired and I've been feeling faint and break out in a sweat almost daily/every other day....so of course this is happening when I'm at work in my agent locations. Luckily everyone is aware that I'm pregnant and know that I have to sit down as soon as I get into the store. If I stand that is one thing that really triggers me feeling that way. Other than that everything is going great and I couldn't be happier!!!

"Sunday Seven"

7 things I look forward to in the next 6 months (before Baby Grant arrives!)

1. Spending money!!! Buying the nursery furniture, decorations, and baby clothes!
2. Designing the nursery and watching my Hubby paint (thanks honey, you’re the best!)
3. A weekend get-away with just Me & Hubby! This will be a sad time but also a happy time, as it will never be the same. I’m wiping a tear from my face as we speak! :-)
4. Eating turkey because I’ll ‘probably’ go back to being a Vegetarian when it’s over.
5. A weekend shopping trip (in June) to the Aurora outlet with my in-laws and Jules…can’t wait!
6. Sleeping in on the weekends! Oh how I LOVE this!!
7. Some peace and quiet….sitting on the couch, watching TV, and cuddling with my doggies!
8. Another BONUS (I couldn’t resist)…I’m looking forward to being another Aunt! My sister (Lyndsay) is having her baby boy/girl either next Saturday, March 7th or Monday the 9th. I can’t wait!!! Pray that everything goes well and that she has a healthy baby.

13 weeks - beginning of 2nd trimester!

I can't believe how fast each week goes and that I'm already in my 13th week of pregnancy. This means I'm finally out of my 1st trimester...yay! I'm praying that I start to get my energy back soon (although I hear it's usually not till 16 weeks or so), and that my morning sickness goes away. I woke up this morning feeling really good! Since this is the first day I've felt close to myself in a long time, I have been going crazy doing laundry and cleaning the house...writing this post is allowing me to take a 'needed' break! :)
Today is the first week I decided to take my belly pics! I am definitely getting a (small) bump and already have 2 pairs of pants that I can no longer wear (at least until I go get the belly band). **The picture of my doggies we had to take cause it was so cute how they were staring at Mommy the entire time we were taking the pics...they were wondering what was going on!
My next dr's appt. is Wednesday, so we're anxious to hear Baby's heartbeat and I'm anxious to see how much weight I've gained! Mommy's weight gain just means that baby is getting bigger, and that excites me!!!

Best Husband Award

I wanted to brag on my husband a little bit, as I think he is the best husband in the world!! I can't even explain how wonderful he is...very caring, understanding, helpful, attentive to me, supportive, and just simply amazing! While I was sick on the cruise he was always there to take care of me...and now he's been so wonderful while I go through this pregnancy. Since I have been feeling sick this past week, yesterday he brought me home a dozen pink roses mixed with yellow flowers that are so beautiful! He hates seeing me sick, and since there's nothing he can do to get rid of it, the flowers were his way of making me smile...and they sure did! See, I told you he was a GREAT husband!!! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!
