Morning sickness begins

Well it’s really strange that most people get morning sickness starting at 8 weeks and I have felt fine up until now. I’m at 12.5 weeks (almost out of my first trimester) and it’s starting to hit me. Here I thought I was going to be one of those lucky ones! The past few days I have been very nauseas in the morning and have gotten sick. Needless to say it has taken me a LONG time to get ready cause I have to stop like 5 times to lay down. I feel very faint A LOT and that’s kind of scary since I drive a lot with my job….you never know when it’s going to hit me in the car. I almost had to pull over yesterday to sleep cause I was so tired I thought I was going to fall asleep while driving (yea, scary I know). Food is finally starting to not sound good to me (in the mornings at least), but I know I still have to force myself to eat ‘something’. Hopefully this will all pass soon, although I know it’s just part of the pregnancy. I know you prego’s out there can appreciate this when I say….”It’s just not fair that our husbands don’t have to go through this!” But luckily my husband is reading “The Expectant Father” and it’s talking about what your wife goes through, so at least he has a ‘clue’ of what it’s like to be on this side of it.
Also, I am SO tired and exhausted that I feel like I've ran 2 marathons in a row (and I'm not over exaggerating!).

"Sunday Seven"

Okay, so my friend (Cara) that blogs always does a "Tuesday Ten" and I just love it and look forward to it every time. So I have decided to 'steel shamelessly' and create a "Sunday Seven"...I have more time on Sunday's to do this and I only have to come up with 7 instead of 10! lol! (Thanks for the idea Cara!) Here goes my very first "Sunday Seven"....hope you all enjoy!

7 things that I love right now.....

1. Being pregnant! It's such an amazing gift from God that we have created such a miracle. I can hardly wait to meet our Bundle of Joy!
2. The book "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy. It's such a funny, straight to the point message that has you wanting to read more and more...I find it so hard to put down...I usually pass out with it in my hand!
3. Pineapple with applesauce drenched over top....and then nuked in the microwave (is this weird guys?!? I think it's normal but maybe it's a strange pregnancy craving?)
4. Turkey! I was a vegetarian (and still consider myself a semi-veg because I refuse to eat red meat)....ever since I became prego and made the decision to eat chicken & turkey, I have wanted a turkey sandwich almost everyday. I love it!! (especially Chili's turkey sandwich...mmm!)
5. My couch and bed, because I'm soooo tired all the time.
6. My 'Seven' jeans, because I know I won't fit into them much longer. I'm literally wearing them everyday that I can. :)
7. My life! I think I have the best husband, parents, sisters, nieces, in-law's and friends that a girl could ask for. Plus I'm welcoming a little one into our lives in just 6 months and I'm soooo excited to be a Mom!
8. This one is a BONUS, as I thought of one more to share! I loved the movie "Fireproof". We watched it with our small group and now we're getting ready to start the series on "Fireproofing your Marriage".

Minor Symtoms

It's been a different kind of week for me. I have been feeling pretty good up until this week (11 weeks) which seems like a strange time to start feeling this way...but with pregnancy weird things happen and you just can't control a thing. On Tuesday I had my first episode of 'almost' passing out. Of course I was in one of my agent locations at the time, talking away to the owner. I completely blanked out on what he was saying, everything blacked out, I started breaking out in a sweat and had to rush to sit down before I fell over. I ripped my coat off and took some deep breaths...I was SO embarassed! I think this same type of episode happened two more times, but luckily when I was at home laying on the couch. Jeff knows just how to take care of me...he instantly turns the fan on high and starts talking to me about something else, to get my mind off of my panic feeling. Friday evening I was feeling overly exhausted (as always!) and actually got sick before heading to my friends house for girl's night. I got feeling better while being around girl's (talking babies all night and drinking virgin strawberry daiquiris!)...but as soon as I got home I was feeling very sick and nauseas, so I just hurried and went to bed. It's just strange how unexpectedly it comes on, but I'm hoping it doesn't last. But no matter what, Baby Grant is worth every bit of it!!!!

Maternity Shopping

I bought my first maternity clothes today! I didn't think it would be fun shopping in the maternity section, but it wasn't so bad....I actually enjoyed it! The only annoying thing is that they don't have much of a selection and not alot of trendy options....but I'll just keep looking and hopefully I'll find more.
Let me know if anyone out there knows of any good places to shop for maternity wear. I'm thinking I need to take a shopping trip somewhere (perhaps Chicago, Mandy?!?), but want to wait till AFTER I find out the baby's sex....I can hardly wait!!!! :)

Sono #2

Today I'm 11 weeks/2 days....I've been reading lots of stuff on the internet lately and started scaring myself about miscarriage. Since I've had low progesterone (a 9.2) and haven't been "sick", it sometimes makes it hard to believe, and then I start getting worried for no reason. Because of this I wanted to get a sono to have some peace of mind so I could stop worrying and move on. My Mom was able to be there with us and it was the best sono we've had so far! Baby Grant was SO active, kicking it's feet and moving from one position to another. It was so fun to watch and it made us all get more and more excited! Today Baby's heartbeat was 170. I think it's a boy and Jeff thinks it's a girl...come on April...I just want to know NOW!!!

Our first Dr's appt. and ultrasound

We were so excited, anxious and a little nervous for our first Dr's appt. and ultrasound. I am currently 9 weeks/2 days along. I had lost 4-5 pounds but they say that's normal for the first trimester. We were able to do the ultrasound first, which we were so anxiously waiting for. We were both relieved when we saw the heartbeat (167 beats per minute)....this was the most amazing thing we've experienced together....it really dawned on us that we created this little human being and it was going to be an addition to our family very soon!
